Café Owner in Kids Tantrum Threat
How would you feel if a stranger stepped in while your kid was having a meltdown? Well, one café owner’s divided opinion by saying she’d do just that! Kim Christophi says she’s had enough of kids throwing tantrums at her kiosk in Felixstowe and will tell them off if their parents are too scared to discipline them.
As the Mirror reports, Kim posted on Facebook: "Can we make ourselves perfectly clear to all parents who are too scared to discipline their children about tantrum screaming. We will give you five lenient minutes to ask the child to stop screaming and then we will ask the child ourselves." Her comment has sparked an angry backlash from furious parents questioning what gives her the right to judge people’s parenting.
Kim later posted to clarify that the kiosk is child friendly and stated the post was prompted by a particular experience where a child’s tantrum went on for some time. She’s also since gone on to say she’s been heartened by well-wishers queuing up at her kiosk to show their support.
Here at UKMums.TV, we’d love to know what you think. Is it a stranger’s place to step in during a child’s tantrum, or would you welcome help calming them down? Let us know over on our Facebook and Twitter.
