Can We Build It? Yes, We Can!
Kids love building things, so to keep your little ones entertained at a party or just for a rainy day activity, why not take out all their building blocks, construction blocks, egg cartons, paper plates, paper cups, lollipop sticks, spare cardboard boxes etc and just let them build!
Take a look at some other ideas below;
Can we build it and eat it too?
Have a table full of crackers, biscuits and different shaped treats that children can construct with. A pot of royal icing will help with the mortar and kids can build their own houses, trucks, cars etc and make their own construction site!
Construction "My Room" Signs
A fun party idea is to provide the kids with diamond-shaped yellow paper and black pens and have them create a sign that says: "Jeff's Room: Under Construction". If you have a laminator, laminate the signs – these would make great take home gifts!
Modelling Clay Construction Craft
Here's a really cool and creative construction party idea. Set up a table covered with newspapers where the kids can sit around and work. Give each child some modelling clay as well as other materials such as buttons, straws, pipe cleaners etc. Then show the children different characters from the new Bob the Builder TV series such as Scoop, Muck, Lofty, Dizzy or even Bob himself, and let them use the pictures as a guide to build their own construction yard pal out of the home made building materials and Plasticine. They don’t have to follow the characters if they don’t want – why not create a new construction truck to help out Bob?
