Can you make your own Easter treats?
Are you up to the challenge of making your own chocolate eggs or hot cross buns ready for the Easter weekend? Writer and mum Joanna Gould took to the kitchen to try and recreate some classic Easter treats, from hot cross buns to crème eggs!
Making your own Easter eggs is a great way to save money. Joanna says that all you need is chocolate and eggs moulds, then simply melt the chocolate, pour it into the moulds and let it set. She also had a go at making hot cross buns using a recipe from BBC Good Food and, even though she’s not a baker herself, she found them quite easy to make.
There are loads of other great Easter goodies that you can make at home, such as your own crème eggs (although Joanna found these more difficult) or using Cadbury’s Mini Eggs to make chocolate Easter cakes, a fun bit of baking that the kids can be involved with too!
