Should you write a book if you have nothing interesting to say? If you’re a celebrity who has shot to fame in the past few years, the answer is a resounding yes.
Now, we’re not slamming all celebrity autobiographies, there are some who even despite being young have actually lived, struggled, overcome certain obstacles or who have interesting tales to tell. And then there’s some who simply haven’t.
Here’s our pick of some celebrities who have released autobiographies way too early and some who just simply shouldn’t write a book at all:
Tom Daley ‘My Story’
Now medallist and Olympic diver Tom Daley is a bit of a National hero right now following his stand-out performance at the Games and if you want to read just how he felt before his big dive – you’re out of luck, as this was released back in May.
It does detail his London 2012 preparation and recounts the heart breaking story of his late father and how his dad inspired him to go for gold, so Tom definitely has a story to tell that fans will enjoy. We just think that at 19 it’s a bit premature to release a memoir!
Cheryl Cole
Now Cheryl’s autobiography isn’t out yet and according to the singer itself it’s apparently going to pretty juicy, so perhaps we can give her the benefit of the doubt. Sure she was in a massively successful girl band, has been around for quite a bit and went through a pretty public divorce, but other than (rightfully) moaning about Ashley and name-dropping her famous friends, what could 29-years-young Chezza have to reveal? If anything we want to read about 59-years-young Cheryl on the eve of the Girls Aloud comeback gig, when she’s on her third marriage…
Little Mix: Ready to Fly
Yes, you read that correctly. The girl band who won X Factor, who have just celebrated being together for a year and released their SECOND single ever have released a tell-all book. But telling what exactly? We’re not sure either, watch this space.
Justin Bieber ‘First Step 2 Forever: My Story’
He might make tween-hearts skip with just a flick of his hair and be incredibly successful to boot, but at just 18 years old what wisdom could his pages contain? Now we had to check that he in fact didn’t have some incredibly difficult upbringing and hasn’t overcome massive obstacles to reach success just in case we were mistaken.
But don’t worry; he did simply put songs on YouTube and the start counting his money a few years later. We used the word ‘book’, although by the looks it’s more ‘exclusive’ picture book for fans to drool over than wisdom-filled life lessons.
Miley Cyrus ‘Miles to Go’
The Disney starlet might have recently shaved her hair off, announced she’s getting hitched and lived through the fall-out of her famous parents’ divorce – but sadly Miley Cyrus’ memoir was written back in her squeaky clean days.
So before the tattoos and the naughty photos appearing on Twitter, ‘Miles to Go’ written by a 17-year-old Miley is simply an account of a good girl who loves her friends, family and fans. Yawn.
Have we missed any? Or do you have any suggestions of good celebrity autobiographies to recommend?
