Caroline Aherne Loses Cancer Fight
If you’re anything like us here at UKMums.TV, you’re probably still in shock over the death of comedian Caroline Aherne who lost her cancer fight over the weekend, at the age of just 52. The sadness intensified today as it emerged the star of The Mrs Merton Show and The Royle Family died alone at her home.
She unexpectedly took a turn for the worse and the comedian’s family reportedly wasn’t aware that her condition had deteriorated so quickly. She’d told loved ones in May she was dying of lung cancer but her condition deteriorated quickly at her bungalow in Timperley, Cheshire.
A relative is quoted by the Mirror as saying: “It was too quick, we didn’t expect her to go. She wasn’t in a hospice. She was just at home. She left on her own.” Following her death on Saturday, tributes poured in from a host of celebrities including Ralph Little who played the younger brother of Caroline’s Denise in The Royle Family. He told the Sun: "I will miss her making us all cry with laughter. I'll miss her supportive texts when I write new things. I'll miss her silliness, her intelligence, her laugher and her joy. We lost one of the good ones."
Rest in peace, Caroline!
