Has Adele rejected a Grammy?
Forget the glitz and glamour and who wore what, the big question we’re wondering from last night’s Grammys is: Did Adele reject the top award of the night, after saying Beyonce deserved it more?
The songstress took to the stage after being named the winner of Best Album honour for her multi-million selling record 25, but told the audience: "I can't possibly accept this award. I'm very humbled and I'm very grateful, but Beyonce is the artist of my life". As the BBC reports, Adele’s multi-million selling record 25 was by far the biggest-seller on this year's shortlist; outselling Beyonce's Lemonade by a factor of 10 to 1!
Adele won five prizes in all, including three of the top four: Best album, song of the year and record of the year - the latter two both rewarding her 2015 comeback single, Hello. Fantastic achievement, Adele! It wasn’t all bad for Beyonce, however. She walked away with the urban contemporary album and best music video titles, for the politically-charged Formation.
Adele or Beyonce? 25 or Lemonade? Who do you think deserved the Grammy award for best album more? We’d love to know you think! Let us know over on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
