Historic exit for candidate on The Apprentice
The Apprentice never fails to deliver on drama, but they’re usually limited to the boardroom or the task, aren’t they? Not last night! History was made as one of the BBC show’s candidates walked out on the series – just as a task was about to begin, in a first for the BBC show!
For those who missed last night’s episode, and you missed a corker, Aleksandra King shocked her fellow team-mates with a bombshell declaration. She said: “You guys, I just have to say something. I’m going to leave the process. I’m really sorry, I’m just not enjoying it.” Cue stunned silence, open mouths and lots of ‘It’s a joke, right?’ reactions. But no, it was absolutely real. She walked out and later told the camera she was keen to get back to her family. Lord Sugar clearly wasn’t bothered, however, as he joked that at least he had one less taxi to pay for. Charming, eh!
In an interview with the Radio Times, Aleksandra said she left due to the ‘blame culture’ and ‘unnecessary stress’. She also said the “work/life balance thing was off, and I felt like the really limited contact I had with my family was just not good enough really”.
Do you sympathise with Aleksandra? Being a candidate on The Apprentice can’t be easy, especially when you have a family at home. Or maybe you would have liked to see her stay longer. Tell us your thoughts over on our Facebook and Twitter.
