Historic Tour de France Win for Froome
The nation has fantastic news to celebrate today as cyclist Chris Froome has won the Tour de France, and he’s made history by becoming the first Brit to win three tours!
But the final stage was much more trying as seven-month-old son Kellan, who looked cute in yellow to match his dad, is teething at the moment. As the Mirror reports, his wife Michelle, who was waiting by the finish with Kellan, admitted: “I’m just very proud of him. This edition was much more emotional because Kellan is teething at the moment, so it’s been a difficult day.” The disrupted sleep and persistent crying is something all mums and dads can relate to at this difficult stage in a baby’s development.
The Team Sky rider, who won the 2013 and 2015 races, crossed the finish line of the 21-stage race in Paris yesterday and is the first man to defend his title in more than 20 years. Dedicating the victory to his son, Froome who’s already vowed to return next year, said: “To Michelle my wife and my son Kellan, your love and support make everything possible. Kellan, I dedicate this victory to you. To my team-mates and support team, this is your Yellow Jersey, too.”
Huge congratulations Chris and good luck as you train for next year’s Tour de France!
