It’s been a weekend of wins on the BBC!
What an amazing weekend it was on the BBC, with winners from the worlds of dance, sport and business announced and a few surprises thrown into the mix!
First came Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday with Ore Oduba crowned king of the dancefloor with his professional dance partner Joanne Clifton (who saw that one coming?) And the BBC sports presenter had barely lifted the Glitterball Trophy before the usual cries of ‘fix’ erupted on social media! Who didn’t expect actor Danny Mac to walk away with the title after consistently scoring top marks?!
That wasn’t all, though, as we were treated to a double win announcement on Sunday, with this year’s BBC Sports Personality of the Year named as Andy Murray after coming top in the public vote. The tennis star even admitted his wife Kim had voted for a contender, the British equestrian Nick Skelton (charming, eh!)
Later the same evening, after weeks of entrepreneurial challenges, Welsh baker Alana Spencer was chosen by Lord Alan Sugar as his next business partner, scooping £250,000 of his investment into her tray bake making business. Alana was something of an outsider on the Apprentice as, by her own admission, she flourished over the weeks to beat inventor Courtney Wood to the title.
The UKMums.TV team was avidly watching, but did you manage to catch all the action? And were you surprised by any of the results? We’d love to know your thoughts! Tell us over on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
