Leonardo DiCaprio Wins Best Actor Award at the BAFTAs
We were pleased to see that one of our favourite actors, Leonardo DiCaprio, was crowned best actor at last night’s star studded BAFTAs. He received the award for his lead role in “The Revenant” after a closely fought battle with British actor Eddie Redmayne and now Leo could finally be in with the chance of winning an Oscar this year. If you watched the awards ceremony last night then you’ll have noticed that “The Revenant” was the clear winner of the night, winning 5 awards including best film, best actor for DiCaprio and best director for Alejandro Innaritu.
Other winners of the night included Brie Larson who won best actress for her lead role in “Room” and Kate Winslet who was recognised for her supporting actress role in “Steve Jobs”. Star Wars actor John Boyega was given the award for rising star whilst Mark Rylance was awarded best supporting actor for his part as a Russian spy in “Bridge of Spies”. Sir Sidney Poitier received the highest accolade of the night as he was honoured with the BAFTA Fellowship.
