Mum-of-two set for literary stardom

Here’s a Christmas cracker of a story for you! A mum-of-two is set for literary stardom for her modern take on a Christmas classic, inspired by the SLUGS in her kitchen of all things! And it’s expected to rocket to the top of the book charts! How amazing is that?!

Aspiring author Lucy Banks’s heart-warming tale, Sol The Slug’s Night Before Christmas, has been picked from thousands of entries as the winner of Amazon’s inaugural competition to find a modern-day equivalent to the 200-year-old Twas the Night Before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore. And the 34-year-old mum, an unknown writer from Devon, is now set to be catapulted to fame.

Inspired by the slugs that roam in her own kitchen at night, her story is about a slug living under a family’s floorboards who assumes Christmas is not for him, until he comes face to face with Father Christmas. As part of her prize, Amazon has made her story available to a potential audience of millions in the hope that the tale will become an instant Christmas Eve classic.

Lucy said: “I tested the story on my two little boys and I just hope that the story will be as popular with children across the country as it was with them.” Sol the Slug’s Night Before Christmas is available on the Kindle store where you can download it for free in the run up to Christmas via this link.
