One love tickets being touted at huge prices
Manchester One Love concert is set to take place this Sunday at Old Trafford Cricket Ground. The concert is to honour those affected by the Manchester terror attack and to raise money for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund. The concert will be headlined by Ariana Grande who will be joined by stars including Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber and Katy Perry.
Ticketmaster set aside free tickets for the 14,200 people who were at the Manchester Arena concert. However, there was more than 10,000 false claims for free tickets as people applied for these tickets despite not attending the Ariana concert last week. This left real survivors missing out on tickets as Ticketmaster struggled to decipher who really was a victim of the terror attack and who was not.
Unfortunately, people are also looking to make money on the concert by selling tickets at inflated prices. One eBay seller was looking to sell four tickets to the gig for £1,250 walking away with a profit of nearly £1,100. Seatwave, Get Me In, Viagogo and Stubhub have all promised to not allow the reselling of tickets on their websites. eBay has also said it would immediately remove any concert ticket listings that are attempting to profit unfairly from the terror attack.
The proceeds from the concert will go towards the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund to support grieving families and those affected by the attack.
For those that missed out on buying tickets, the concert will broadcast Sunday on BBC1. Will you be watching? Let us know your thoughts on Facebook and Twitter.
