Orlando clubber's “I’m gonna die” text to mum
As parents, we can’t bear to imagine what must have been going through mum Mina Justice’s mind as she received chilling texts from her son Eddie pronouncing he was about to die as he hid in the toilets during the horrific Orlando massacre.
As the Mirror reports, Mina had shown TV reporters texts sent by Eddie in which he said: "Mommy I love you. In club they shooting." Mina replies "what club” and he says “Pulse” before adding “call police.” In the texts he said: "I’m gonna die" before chillingly writing "He’s coming".
We dread to think how Mina must have been feeling as she spent what must have felt like an eternity hoping and praying he’d made it out safe, sadly only to discover Eddie was one of the 50 lives claimed when ISIS-supporting gunman Omar Mateen stormed into the Pulse nightclub on Sunday. Mateen took hostages forcing SWAT teams to enter the club, and he was later gunned down by police who described the shootings as an act of "domestic terrorism". An outpouring of grief has swept the world.
Here at UKMums.TV, our hearts go out to all the parents who lost sons and daughters in the Orlando tragedy that day.
