Parents are being urged to stop using Bumbo Baby Seats after safety concerns and scores of infant injuries cause nearly four million seats to be recalled.
Following a previous warning that the seats are dangerous if placed on raised surfaces, the Consumer Product Safety Commission has revealed that almost 20 children have suffered skull fractures after using the product.
Now, a further 34 reports have been received of infants hurting themselves whilst the seat was placed on the floor, causing the Bumbo International Trust to voluntarily recall millions of the seats.
Despite the recall of products across the US and Canada, the seats are also available in the UK, priced around £35 and available in a number of retailers. Consumers across the pond are being given free repair kits to make the products safe for use, however it is not yet known what UK parents can do.
Bottom line – stop using the product!
