Stars show up for Pride of Britain awards
A host of celebrities were in attendance at last night’s Pride of Britain awards to show their support for some of Britain’s bravest people. The ceremony, which was held in central London last night, recognised heroes such as the aid workers who risked their lives to save Ebola victims and the medics who rescued the victims of the Alton Towers crash by climbing up onto a rollercoaster
David Beckham was amongst those arriving on the red carpet last night, saying that he was “excited” to be attending his first Pride of Britain awards and to be presenting an award. One young winner, 8 year old Bailey Matthews, got the chance to meet Beckham, who praised the young hero for his choice of a three piece suit. Bailey was recognised back in July when a video of him completing his first ever triathlon went viral.
The nominees for the awards were voted for by members of the public and were recognised for their bravery and courage in the face of challenging situations. The awards will be broadcast on ITV at 8pm on Thursday.
