Teen who started her vampire novel aged 15 lands six-figure publishing deal

Move over Twilight, a new vampire novel is about to take the world by storm, this time written by a British teen who started writing her book at just 15 years old.

Now 18 and studying English literature at Oxford University, Abigail Gibbs has been offered the six figure deal by publisher Harper Collins after a literary agent found extracts of ‘The Dark Heroine: Dinner With A Vampire’ online.

Abigail started posted extracts of the novel onto Wattpad, a website that allows amateur authors to post and share their work online and soon the book was attracting 17 million hits!

Set in London, the dark novel follows Violet Lee who after a chance encounter is kidnapped and held hostage by vampires, where she meets the charismatic but dangerous Kaspar. Dubbed as a ‘sexy romantic tale’, the book is already creating a buzz ahead of its release.

What an achievement for such a young girl!
