The ‘health food’ with more fat than a Big Mac revealed!
If you’re opting for a so-called ‘healthy snack’, be warned! A wholefood from Holland & Barrett has been slammed for containing more fat than a McDonald’s Big Mac!
The 200g bag of yogurt-coated peanuts contains nearly double the amount of a woman’s recommended daily fat allowance and even more than a high in fat fast-food burger.
The Mirror revealed that the healthier snack from Neal’s Yard Wholefoods contains 40g of saturated fat, nearly double the amount of a woman’s recommended daily fat allowance and even more than a Big Mac (24g).
A spokesperson defended the product by saying it wasn’t designed for one person to eat in one sitting and was for sharing, yet a member of British Dietetic Association warned how ‘healthy’ snacks can often contain hidden sugars and fats which consumers aren’t aware of.
