Tom Hardy chases moped thief through London
Tom Hardy is no stranger to performing stunts or carrying out fight scenes in his movie roles. On Sunday, Mad Max came to life as Hardy stunned bystanders as he pursued a fleeing suspect in a dramatic Hollywood style chase. Two men had jumped a red light at a busy junction before crashing the stolen moped into a £50,000 Mercedes near Hardy’s home in Richmond.
Arun Pullen, 22, said the Hollywood actor “switched into superhero mode” as he leapt over a wall and sprinted through the streets of Richmond. He was able to corner the thief before checking the suspect's ID before police arrived.
The witness asked Tom what had happened and he said that he chased him through a back garden and caught him around the block even with the route like an assault course. Pullen added “Tom must have been walking down the road. He went off like a shot in pursuit and looked furious. If the kid had been dumb enough to resist I reckon Tom would have given him a good hiding.”
Hardy, 39, who also starred in blockbusters Mad Max and The Revenant and recently co-wrote and appeared in BBC drama Taboo, performed a citizen's arrest on the thief and detained him until police arrived.
We wish we had Tom Hardy in our neighbourhood watch!
