Travel chaos set to hit Bank Holiday weekend!
It’s the last Bank Holiday of the summer and while it may not feel like the summer anymore Britons up and down the country are planning weekends away! Whether you are heading to the seaside or taking the kids to Warwick Castle, August Bank Holiday is always filled with family plans!
If your weekend plans include travel, unfortunately we don’t come bearing good news as all we have seen this morning splashed over the news is that you should expect delays! So if you are travelling the country over this weekend - expect delays! There’s going to be plenty of them!
Over the Bank Holiday weekend the country is set for train chaos as most of the major stations are closing for updates and repairs. London Euston will be completely closed over the weekend to prepare for work on the new high speed rail route HS2. All over London major rail stations are closing down lines, London Waterloo will have 14 of their 19 platforms closed!
It’s not only the trains that are going to be a nightmare; the roads are expected to be chock-a-block too! The busiest day on the roads is set to be Monday with everyone returning from weekends away or going on days out! Our advice would be if you are travelling Monday – leave early! You don’t want to be spending your whole Bank Holiday Monday sat in traffic on the M6!
