Two breakfasts are better than no breakfast
Do your kids have breakfast at home and at school? Are there times when they don’t have breakfast at all?
A study by Yale University has found that children who eat two breakfasts are much less likely to be overweight or obese than those who skip breakfast altogether. Eating breakfast is said to help children’s academic performance as well as keeping them at a healthy weight. While there have been concerns that two lots of breakfast could lead to weight gain, this latest study suggests that having no breakfast at all is twice as likely to lead to obesity compared with having two breakfasts.
Many primary schools now have breakfast clubs to make sure that all children are able to have what is considered to be the most important meal of the day. As well as helping to improve children’s health, breakfast can also help them to concentrate and work better throughout the school day.
