Who won what at the BAFTA’s?
Did you tune into the BAFTA’s last night? If not, then don’t despair we are here to fill you in on all the big winners of the night.
Happy Valley dominated this year’s BAFTA’s in a night of tremendous success for the BBC as they swept up ‘Best Drama Series’ and ‘Leading Actress’ awards. They took away two major awards of the evening whilst The Crown which had led the nominations with five, left empty handed. The Netflix series didn’t leave the awards without a small mention as Happy Valley’s Sarah Lancashire, thanked The Crown's Claire Foy for "the best 10 hours under a duvet I've ever had" when she picked up her best actress award.
The new "Must See Moment" award which was introduced at this year’s BAFTA was won by Planet Earth II: Snakes vs Iguana Chase. This category saw some stiff competition as up against David Attenborough was James Corden's Carpool Karaoke with Michelle Obama and Ed Balls's Gangnam Style on Strictly Come Dancing.
It is very rare for Ant and Dec to turn up to an awards show without leaving with a nice shiny award and this year’s BAFTA’s were no different as they picked up ‘Best Entertainment Programme’ and ‘Best Live Event’ prize for fronting The Queen's 90th Birthday Celebration on ITV last May, of which they dedicated to the Queen!
