Would you feel confident starting your own business?
Many women dream of starting their own business or running a company, but lots of budding businesswomen simply lack the confidence to get started.
According to new research by Development Economics and YouGov, one in ten women who wanted to start a business lacked the confidence to do so, with nearly a quarter of women feeling as though they didn’t have the business skills needed to launch a company. Many women also felt that they didn’t feel ready to start their own business and 72% were unable to identify a female role model running a similar business.
Despite these findings, there’s a record number of small businesses in the UK as well as many self-employed people, with a considerable number of these being women. Facebook will be launching a campaign soon that will provide advice and support to women entrepreneurs and this will hopefully encourage more women to follow their dream of starting their own business.
Do you agree with the findings? Do women lack confidence when it comes to starting their own businesses? Let us know your thoughts over on our Facebook and Twitter!
