Beauty and the Beast Special

With the new Beauty and the Beast film due to be released this week, we’ve taken a look at what the film has in store for avid Disney fans. It’s set to hit cinemas across the UK on March 17, and if you’re anything like the team at UKMums.TV you’re probably very excited for this hotly-anticipated film.

For those who remember it first time around, when the animated classic came out in 1991, the key is to expect something different from the latest adaptation which stars the hunky Dan Stevens as Beast and Emma Watson as Belle. Other notable cast members include Sir Ian McKellen as Cogsworth and Emma Thompson as Mrs Potts.

While it tells the same story of a young prince, imprisoned in the form of a beast, who can be freed only by true love (and Belle, the only human girl to ever visit the castle since it was enchanted, might be his only opportunity), this remake promises a widened mythology around the story. It all sounds extremely intriguing!

According to IMDb, interesting trivia about the film includes the fact Ryan Gosling was originally offered the role of Beast but turned it down to appear in La La Land and Sir Ian McKellen turned down the chance to be the voice of Cogsworth for the original Beauty and the Beast in 1991.

This time the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack is being performed by Ariana Grande and John Legend, while Celine Dion is the vocalist for the track How Does a Moment Last Forever. For a sneak preview, check out the trailer here:
