Behind Every Great Man – Is A Woman! A rant about dads...
I have been with my partner for almost 9 years (scarily) and I love him with all my heart…but, there are times that he winds me up so much that I could….well I guess you all know what I could do! Every woman has been in the position of being so annoyed by her bloke that we wonder why they are the way they are.
If it isn’t the argument on why the toilet seat should be left down, or why the place for wet towels isn’t on the bed, then it’s why the washing up must be done every night, or why he won’t understand that tumble drying your clothes within an inch of their life will actually make them not fit anymore!
The fights or bickering over decision making, why I always have to be ‘the strict one’ when it comes to disciplining the kids or the famous money argument, will probably never leave us but I think he makes me a better person.
Yes I can moan until I’m blue in the face, but on the other hand, he can identify what that weird noise is coming from my car and knows instantly how to fix it, or he will come and pick me up from a rare night out and not roll his eyes too much when driving a group of giggling women about in the early hours.
And then there’s the unwavering support, the little romantic gestures that although rare, still continue to surprise me after so many years. Yes it might not be roses every week, but the little ‘I miss you’ texts or offering to get up with the kids and let me have an extra five minutes in bed that are the things I try not to take for granted.
So I guess no matter what he does that bugs me, there is a reason why we are in each other’s lives and why I’m proud that he is a father to my little ones. But I would like to point out that I fully stand behind the statement:
“Behind every great man, stands a great woman.”
