Best Baby Accessories

has been looking to see what new mums really ought to have for their newborns and have found these lovely accessories which could be considered as ‘must haves’.

Vicks SweetDreams Cool Mist Humidifier with Projecter

With the weather taking a turn for the worse, coughs and colds get more common and babies are perhaps even more susceptible to them than grown-ups.  Snuffly, congested babies are not happy babies and there’s not a lot you can do for them, but the Vicks SweetDreams Cool Mist Humidifier can help to give temporary relief.  It helps to maintain a comfortable humidity level in baby’s bedroom and at the same time it projects soothing images onto the walls and ceiling to help get baby off to sleep.  For extra help in fighting off colds, you can also use the Vicks VapoPads scented pads – the rosemary and lavender pads are suitable for younger babies but for children aged 3 and above, there is also a menthol pad available as well.  See HauckUK for more information

Boon Grass Drying Rack

Have you noticed that cleaning your baby bottles and accessories seems to take over the draining board and clutter everywhere up?  Well, no more!  The Boon Grass drying rack holds all your baby accessories as they air dry on the flexible blades.  The water drains into the lower tray and is fully contained.  Helps to keep baby’s stuff separate from your own.  See GadgetBaby for more info.

Watch Me 1

A wonderfully simple idea but so helpful is the Watch Me 1 from Hauck – a mirror for the backseat which is easily and safely installed by attaching it to the car headrests by means of 4 straps.  It can be adjusted both horizontally and vertically for optimum visibility in your rear view mirror.  It is made from high-quality and break-proof material to reduce the risk of injury.  See HauckUK for more info.

Bibi Milk Powder Dispenser

Another nifty accessory to help travelling mums – the bibi milk powder dispenser.  Travelling by train is not an easy task for a mum on her own (a colleague can testify to that!) and trying to warm bottles with a screaming baby is not for the faint-hearted!  Travelling bottle warmers are good but don’t always do the job quickly enough for baby, so said colleague took a sterile bottle, a flask of warm (pre-boiled) water and a container of pre-measured powder, then made up the bottle in situ on the train.  The bibi milk powder dispenser would have made life a bit easier - the spout makes it easy to pour the powder out!  It comprises 4 individual containers which all screw together and, being the same shape as some baby bottles, means it fits into the bottle pockets of the changing bag.  See GadgetBaby for more info

Chillipeeps Multi-Purpose Teats

Or, if your baby’s favourite milk is available pre-mixed, then the Chillipeeps multi-purpose teats will come in handy.  The adapter fits to all feed cartons as well as mineral water bottles and the teat itself is easy to attach, use, remove, clean and sterilise, ready for next time.  So, when you’re out about (possibly on the train or midway between service stations on the motorway) the Chillipeeps multi-purpose teats will certainly make life easier.  See GadgetBaby for more info.
