Best Christmas Drinks

Christmas – a time for celebrating with family and friends.

Here at, we’ve been looking for some different drinks for you to enjoy this Christmas and think that we have found a few which should go down nicely!

Of course, the Christmas Party wouldn’t be the same without a special Christmas cocktail or two!

One of our favourite Christmas cocktails is a Mince Pie Martini – yes, you really can make a cocktail with mincemeat (and gin, red vermouth and dark rum and other bits and pieces)!  If you fancy having a go at making this, then go to BBC Good Food for the recipe.  It’s easy to make and comes very highly recommended!

Or how about a Christmas Cosmopolitan?  This tasty twist on an all-time favourite includes ginger wine as well and is a wonderful winter warmer!  Take a look at BBC Good Food to find out how to make one.

Pimms isn’t just for the summer! Add brandy, apple juice and cinnamon sticks for a Winter Pimms Punch with apple and orange slices to garnish.  These slip down just too easily (or so we’re told!).   Go to BBC Good Food for further details.

For lovers of mulled wine, you can’t beat the Mulled Wine Cocktail, an absolute winner which tastes fab and is so easy to make!  It can be served either warm or chilled but, if you’re serving warm, remember to serve in heatproof glasses!  Visit BBC Good Food for details of how to make this tasty treat.

Everyone must have seen the seasonal favourite plant – the Poinsettia – but did you know that you can make a Poinsettia Cocktail made with Champagne, Cranberry Juice and Grand Marnier?  We think you’ll all agree that it sounds absolutely delicious but, don’t just take our word for it!  Go to and make some for yourself!

Of course, there are also non-drinkers, drivers and kids who will be celebrating as well, so why not make them a Fireside Flamer?  With lime juice, fresh orange juice and a dash of grenadine syrup, this is a wonderfully tasty and refreshing drink.  For more details, to go Good to know

Finally for those of you with a sweet tooth, try the Morning Star cocktail – a refreshing pineapple-based drink – go to Good to know for the recipe.

... and here are some of our favourite drinkable Christmas products!

1. There’s a new, limited edition flavour of Ribena out on major supermarket shelves at the moment – Ribena Winter Spice – which is Ribena’s first ever drink designed to be served hot!  It tastes just like a non-alcoholic mulled wine, with their signature blackcurrant taste infused with aromatic spices.  But it won’t be on the shelves forever so try it out while you can.

2. Raisthorpe Manor has an exciting range of luxury gins, vodkas and liqueurs, all made in North Yorkshire and received a sample of their prize-winning Toffee & Caramel Vodka  and Damson Port Liqueur to try.  Simply delicious!  For more information on what is on offer, go to Rainsthorpe Manor

3. Or, another tasty treat is Coole Swan – an Irish Cream Liqueur blending Irish Whiskey with Belgian White Chocolate and fresh Irish dairy cream!  This is available from John Lewis stores or online at Coole Swan
