Christmas Taste Testing- Tipples

Christmas Taste Testing- Tipples

Christmas is all about eating and drinking (responsibly of course!) and we have been testing bubbles, beer and even some of the hard stuff to give you a rundown of what should be on your drinks’ list this Christmas.

Alcohol Free:

For those little grown up wannabes or even mums to be, an alcohol free alternative to Christmas bubbles is a great way to make everyone feel included. We loved Echo Falls Sparkling Zero Alcohol infusion. This fruity, crisp sparkling soft drink comes in a Champagne style bottle, and at just £5 from ASDA, we suggest you stock up for the holidays! Having a party? Serving cocktails is a Christmas party must. Make life easy with Godminster’s Bloody Good Mary gift box. The set comes with everything you need to make arguably the best Bloody Mary you will ever try! RRP £32 (2)

The hard stuff:

If you’re looking for something to drink neat, then Warner Edward’s Harrington Gin selection is a good place to start. These award winning Gins are created with no corner cutting or compromises. Our favourite was the Harrington Sloe Gin RRP £30. Its robust character means it’s perfect to sip and savour or just as good served as part of a long drink. (3)

After dinner:

If gin isn’t your drink then why not try a glass of Cockburn’s Special Reserve Port? RRP £12.00. It’s matured in oak casts and has notes of strawberry and plum. Perfect for enjoying on its own.  (4)

What better time to crack out the bubbles than Christmas? Aldi’s Prosecco Spumante DOCG came up tops in our books. It is light and refreshing and makes a mean Bellini! RRP £7.49 (5)

For the man of the house we recommend Aldi’s La Goudale Abbaye Beer. This complex lager is full flavoured and bold and, at just £2.49 for 750ml, it’s affordable too! (6)

There is nothing better than a cup of coffee and a few biscuits over the Christmas holidays. We love Caffe Ottavo's Nespresso coffee pods best! Our favourite? Gran Gusto! (7)
