Classic Martini Cocktail Recipe

Classic Martini Cocktail Recipe

Everyone has their own take on the martini but we think our recipe is as near to the original as possible!

From cocktail masters to those who just love to enjoy a tipple, everyone does seem to have their own idea of what a 'classic' Martini is and the arguing doesn’t end with the ingredients either, Bond demands shaken but some prefer the drink to be stirred together in the glass... quite frankly who cares?

Either way it’s a great drink for a weekend treat so why not try it tonight?!

Ingredients:

• 15ml/½fl oz dry vermouth
• 55ml/2fl oz gin
• One olive
• Twist of lemon peel

Method:

1. For a shaken martini – (well if it’s good enough for 007) take a cocktail shaker and some large ice cubes and add the vermouth and gin.

2. Make sure you do not over shake or you’ll dilute the drink, about five seconds is enough.

3. Strain and pour in a chilled martini glass with either an olive or twist of lemon.

4. Serve immediately.

Top Tip:

If you prefer to have yours served with a cocktail onion, it’s no longer called a martini – it’s a Gibson!
