Clocks go back, nights draw in.
British Summer Time (BST) is officially over now as we are back into Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Although we all loved the extra hour in bed this morning, what does it actually mean, and why do we do it?
The main purpose of Daylight Saving Time, is to make better use of daylight (makes perfect sense really). We change our clocks during the summer months to move an hour of daylight from the morning to the evening. On the last Sunday of October, we put the clocks back to make up for the hour lost in the summer. This is where the saying “Spring Forward, Fall back” comes from!
So enjoy your extra hour in bed! It can either be used as guilt free relaxation hour, or an extra hour to do jobs around the house! But whatever it is used for, make the most of it!
