Half-term activity inspiration for all the family

Half-term activity inspiration for all the family

It’s soon the first school holidays of 2017 and we’re still in the midst of winter! A simple picnic in the park is generally off the list at this time of year, so UKMums.TV thought we’d bring you a rundown of fun activities to keep the kids entertained during the half-term holidays!

1. Get crafty at home

Sometimes the weather just isn’t worth the trip out at this time of year, especially if your little one has a runny nose. A day in is what they need, but we know how stir crazy they can get so a good afternoon full of arts and crafts can be the ideal activity. Raid the craft cupboard or simply use items from around and the house and let their imaginations roll. It’s amazing what you can create with a toilet roll and carrier bag!

2. Bounce, bounce, bounce

This is a relatively new craze but there is no doubt it’s a fun one! Trampoline centres are popping up all over the UK, so why not head over for a morning of bouncing; most have sessions for different age groups too so little ones need not worry about bigger kids or adults. A great work out for mum and dad, too!

3. Take a walk in the woods

We may have already mentioned the weather might not be great for taking to the outdoors at this time of year, but after a few days in and the appearance of some crisp winter sunshine (fingers crossed) some fresh air can be perfect for blowing out the cobwebs and getting some good healthy exercise. Most people have a local walking route or woods just a short car drive away, so wrap up warm, pack the hot chocolate and take a lovely family walk!

4. Go for a swim

It might seem a bit cold to get your kit off but once you're splashing around the pool you'll be glad you did! It's a great activity for families with kids of all ages and you'll come out feeling fresh and energised! Make sure you look out for kids sessions which will work out cheaper.
