Healthy but yummy snacks for your little ones!
Snack time is an important part of a child’s diet to ensure they keep their energy up throughout the day. But as children can be children and don’t always navigate towards the fruit basket, it’s important to make sure the snacks you do supply are as healthy as possible.
We’ve listed some of our favourite snacks that are deliciously yummy but have lots of goodness in too;
Now this might seem like an obvious one but Yogurt is an excellent source of calcium and there are many different ways you can dress this up. Try adding some Granola and berries and you’ve got a healthy snack that will keep the kids going until their next meal.
2. Sweet Potato crisps
Sweet Potato is one the healthiest and most nutritious vegetables around and as we know, crisps are also one of a child’s favourite things. Why not combine the two by thinly slicing a sweet potato, drizzling with olive oil and baking in the oven at 180° until nice and crisp.
3. Snack mix
Why not make a snack mix. Mix together a healthy combination of nuts, pretzels, whole grain cereal, banana chips, and popcorn for both a handy and portable snack. Nuts contain must-have minerals such as magnesium, iron, and zinc too so you’ll be adding important items to their diet.
