Healthy Snacks for Adults

We at UKMums.TV are as guilty as anybody when it comes to snacking when we shouldn’t, so we have swapped some of our snacks to healthy alternatives and below are just a few of our favourites.

1. Leksands Crispbread: Using only rye, fresh pure water from the Leksands spring, yeast and a pinch of salt, these Crispbreads are simple but delicious and are perfect for healthy family dinners and lunches! We love this Swedish classic with sliced boiled egg, or with some butter and a good chunk of cheese!

2. Nature’s Path Mesa-Sunrise Cereal: Even if you’re not gluten intolerant, this gluten-free cereal is simply delicious. There’s a common misconception about gluten-free products not tasting as good as products that contain gluten but with Nature’s Path Mesa-Sunrise cereal this is simply not the case!

3. Nuts: Now this may seem like an obvious one, but snacking on the correct kind of nuts can be very good for you in moderation. Nuts such as pistachios and cashews have a much lower fat content than other nuts, whilst still containing a good amount of protein.

4. Fruit and Vegetables: Again, this is an obvious one especially with the recommended ‘5 pieces of fruit/vegetables a day’, but snacking on fruit may not always be healthy depending on what type you choose. Fruits such as mangos and bananas are high in sugar, whereas alternatives such as avocado and vegetables such as carrots and cucumber are low in sugar.
