Why: One of the ‘loveliest castles in the world’, the historic site has play areas, live action shows and a rich history for both kids and adults to enjoy.

An absolutely beautiful castle in equally stunning grounds, Leeds Castle is always worth a visit, but the extra special activities on this summer mean Mike the Knight is desperate to get me there on a medieval day out!
From 5 – 10 June, an action packed week of medieval activities and entertainment will be on offer for an extra exciting reason to visit the castle. Watch thrilling tournaments from mounted knights, see medieval weaponry and watch displays of spectacular action, stunts, falls, fights and galloping horses.
Children and adults will be able to enjoy watching fearless knights on horseback performing daredevil stunts, fights and falls in an authentic jousting arena against the beautiful backdrop of the medieval castle.
I think this historic take on a live action show is going to be great and my kids can’t wait either!
In addition to the twice daily jousts there will be historical activities on offer for children of all ages including archery and medieval themed crafts in a marquee. Plus, the large playground with play castle is a permanent fixture and guaranteed fun for little medieval adventurers!
Later in June is the perfect activity for young knights in training, just like Mike the Knight! Over the 23rd and 24th of June, comes the chance for children to try on replica medieval armour, helmets, breastplates, chainmail and gauntlets. They can even have a lesson in medieval swordsmanship and participate in a fun recreation of the Battle of Agincourt. This is fab fun family entertainment that will allow you to get your hands on history.
