Top 5 Indoor Bank Holiday Activities
It’s coming up to the Summer Bank Holiday and you’ve probably already planned a fantastic family day out. However, should the downpours start, as seems to be typical of UK Bank Holidays, we’ve trawled the web for activities to save you.
Pass the time with a home treasure hunt. Children will love to uncover the clues you make and discover the treasure. You could reward the winner with a small toy or coins, regular or chocolate, or have your kids play as a team to solve the clues together.
Bring out the baking trays, aprons and flour! Bake a batch of cookies to banish the rainy day blues, and there’s a delicious treat at the end for you all to try. Children love cooking up their own creations and eating them warm out of the oven. Yum!
Stage a film festival at home with your kids’ favourite classics, then get the duvets and watch them all in your own tailor made screening. With a big bowl of popcorn to dip into, there’s no better way to spend a rainy day than when you’re snuggled up warm on the sofa.
Dust down old board games that have probably been neglected over many months. Old favourites like Scrabble and Snakes and Ladders are fun while also being great for children’s development, and it’s a change from the TV and computer games.
If the rain washes out your picnic plans, don’t be afraid to serve it up in your living room instead. Just grab your basket and let the children help fill it with food and drinks, then spread a blanket, unpack and eat.
We hope this is enough to have you beating any rainy day boredom. Don’t let a Bank Holiday wash-out spoil your fun!
