Weekend activities for family fitness
We know how busy life is, especially for parents juggling the demands of childcare and work. It’s tough fitting exercise in to your hectic schedule, isn’t it? That’s why we’ve compiled a list of fun family fitness activities with no gym in sight! Beat that holiday flab with these top selections!
1. Bowl away
It might be a case of throwing a bowling ball down an alley, but it’s good for your body as well as being fun. Why not make a point of going bowling one weekend? You can take the kids along with you and make it a family day out. It’s perfect for wet weather days!
2. Go walking
With spring on its way, the worst of the winter weather is now behind us (hopefully!) So, what better time to take to the outdoors for a stroll. You’ll burn tonnes of calories without knowing it as you take in the scenery and the best part is it’s absolutely free! Try orienteering or geocaching to make it fun and adventurous for kids.
3. Outdoor games
Why not turn your garden into a fun obstacle course, or head to the park. You’ll all have fun playing outdoor games such as rounders, cricket and football! All you need is a bat and a ball and away you go! Bring out your family’s competitive streak
4. Exercise class
You’re bound to find an exercise class you and other members of your family will enjoy. For example, fans of dance are sure to love a spot of Zumba and cyclists will have fun at a high intensity spinning class. Check out what your local leisure and community centres have to offer!
5. Activity holiday
Why not combine a short weekend break with family fitness? There is a range of activity and adventure holidays for families to choose from right here in the UK, such as Centre Parcs. You won’t be stuck for things to do!
