I was thrilled when I found out I had the chance to review the Mad About Ponies and Treasure Box Craft Party kits from Interplay as they were perfect for my daughter’s sixth birthday party!

Craft Party is a brand new kit containing everything you need for a children’s party and includes enough materials for six children. The Mad About Ponies kit went down really well with both boys and girls, which is handy if you have a mixed group of animal lovers. The kids each have a toy pony to decorate with the paints provided and once they’re dry they can play the show jumping game included to win a rosette - which got them all really excited.

We also got to try The Treasure Box Party kit, which is the same concept as Mad About Ponies but was a definite hit with the girls. Each of the girls made their own fashionable charm bracelet which they loved customising with the different accessories and showing off! They also decorated a trinket box to keep the bracelets safe, which was lovely as they all had two gifts each to take home with them and keep.

The kits are aimed at 5-8 year olds and each activity lasts around 1 ½ hours which is much longer than I expected and contains plenty of high quality materials - making them good value for money. I've never really seen anything like this but as soon as the kids were showing off their keepsakes at the end of the party, I had parents coming up to me and saying what a fantastic idea it was and how thrilled they were that everyone got a present.

I really liked the fact that I didn't have to worry too much about party bags or planning activities as you get everything in one box and the Ponies kit especially would be ideal for planning a whole theme around, with pony-themed decorations and cake. I'm really eager to see if more themes come out as I think there's lots of other parents who would be keen to give them a go.
