Ideal for footy mad kids or those who just love collecting with their mates, we were sent the new Sports Stars range from Character Building to give a mum's opinion.

The set contains all you need to begin your own fantasy football league and play plenty of matches. I was really impressed with the pitch; it was larger than I thought and will withstand a lot of play time and there are all the accessories you’d expect on a football field like goals and corner flags to set the scene.

We all liked that it comes with three players and a football so you can begin game play immediately - nothing worse than buying a toy only to realise later that you need to buy even more before you can give it to the kids. There are also eight slider bases and two goalkeeper bases included which is enough for two whole teams.

The Pitch & Play was a real hit with my sons who were occupied for hours. I think it’s a great toy for the football season and the players are wearing their current kits which brings this fantasy football game right up to date.

The kit is a great gift for families as it’s easy enough for five-year-olds to play but can be enjoyed by footy fans of all ages who want a kick-about with their favourite players!
