There’s a Pig Up My Nose scoops Oscar’s Book Prize 2018!

THE children’s title There’s a Pig Up My Nose won over the judging panel and has scooped Oscar’s Book Prize this year.

The award of £5,000 is to be split between the author, John Dougherty and illustrator Laura Hughes.
This oinktastic book for under-fives tells the story of a little girl named Nathalie who suddenly gets a pig stuck up her nose, and the efforts of her class mates as they try to get it out.
The winning title was announced last night (May 14) at St James’s Palace where the award was presented by Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie.

Lucie Goose by Danny Baker and Pippa Curnick, The Secret of Black Rock by Joe Todd Stanton, Sunk! by Rob Biddulph and That Bear Can’t Babysit by Ruth Quayle and Alison Friend were the four other titles that made the shortlist.

Oscar’s Book Prize was set up in memory of Oscar Ashton, who died in 2012 from an undetected heart condition. To find out more information about Oscar’s Book Prize please click here
