Easy burger toppings
We all love a burger and, let’s face it, they’re quick and easy to make. But perhaps you’re getting fed up of topping it with ketchup or a slice of tomato or cheese and are looking for something to make it different for a change? Here are a few ideas to make your burgers tastier than usual and just that bit more special.
Top your burger with 1 tablespoon guacamole and 1 tablespoon sliced pickled jalapeños and 3 tortilla chips.
Add a tablespoon of crunchy peanut butter and half a tablespoon of hot-pepper relish to your burger, then top with 2 slices of cooked bacon.
Slice a large onion into ½ inch thick rounds, brush both sides with olive oil and sprinkle with Cajun mix. Grill until blackened and tender (5-6 minutes per side) then add to your burger.
Add a tablespoon of chilli sauce to your burger and top with melted cheese – Cheddar is best for flavour.
Upgrade your burger with a fried egg, bacon and a frisée salad. Serve in a toasted bun for extra crunch.
6. Cranberry sauce and blue cheese burger
This is best served on a turkey burger – add the cranberry sauce to your burger and then sprinkle liberally with grated blue cheese.
