Last-minute Christmas Shopping Hacks
If you’re one of the few people that have all their presents bought and wrapped by December 1st then we applaud you, but realistically for most of us this isn’t the case! If you have some last-minute shopping to do this year then fear no more as we’ve pulled together our top hacks for last-minute shopping success.
1. Make a plan of action
The shopping may be last-minute but when you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail! Before you head out, take a few minutes to decide which stores you’re going into for which presents. There’s nothing worse than battling with the crowds, trying to decide as you go along whether to buy Great Aunt Margaret a cardigan from M&S at the top of the high-street or Debenhams round the corner. Make a plan and you’ll be in and out in no-time!
Vouchers are so underrated! They’re easy to buy and who doesn’t love a voucher to go out and spend in the Boxing Day sales. Vouchers are especially good for those people who you don’t know well enough to shop for. Most large supermarkets now stock a range of high-street vouchers so you should be able to pick up a few gifts while shopping for those last food items too.
3. Go off the beaten track
You’re not the only one who’s going to be rushing around for gifts so to avoid the crowds and the mayhem, avoid the high street and head to local independent shops, boutiques and charity shops. Not only will they be much quieter, but they’re also great for finding more unique gifts… no one will ever know that it was bought in a last-minute flurry!
So this may sound like a bit of a cheap move but we won’t judge you for recycling unwanted gifts at Christmas time. The bath set you were given for your birthday is better off with your teenage niece than gathering dust under your bed! Of course, recycling is only best when you have something that someone else will actually like. It’s no good gifting old tat so someone who is making an effort with your present.
